I'll start this off by saying it has been something that has come easy for me since I was a young girl. I would often compose love letters for friends to send to their boyfriends because they liked the words that I would use. I have been told many many times that I should write. Well,I have graduated from the love letter composition forum to writing and having published my first novel, Lies in a Season of Tribulation.

The reason I write is a need to get the story in my head into a readable format. That allows me to build upon the story. It relaxes me to write and I can leave the troubles of the day for a place that  allows me contentment.

What I hope for with my writing is for readers to enjoy the story that I created. I don't look for fame but I am hoping for a few extra bucks for the kitty.  I'll be honest, I sat down and started writing when the Countries finances went South. But I had no idea, though I knew I loved to write, that I could write a novel. That was a surprise to me. Once into my first novel the need to continue until I finished the story was overwhelming. Now I find that my day is not complete unless I add to the story I'm on. Sometimes it takes me hours to write because the thoughts just keep coming that add to the story line. Other days, I will add a paragraph and the mind is empty.

What I have learned from my experience with writing a novel is vast. I have found that writing the story was the easiest part.  I have learned that a college education isn't needed but sure would be an asset. The editing is grueling and seems endless unless of course you are one of the big authors who can have their work edited for them. Patience is required. Did I say patience? I'm talking the patience of a Saint! I learned that I needed to grow some tough skin as that is a requirement. I have found that unless you are willing to promote your book it is not going to go very far. I am learning how to sell my book as well as myself. Not something I have ever been good at but as I said, I am learning . I have found that if you can connect to other authors it is a valuable resource. I have learned, I can.
